You Can Make a Difference!
Ministry Opportunities

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine you did for me.”

Matthew 25:40

  Devastating Earthquake in Haiti
Continue to pray for those in Haiti, the rescue and medical workers and those on our District awaiting to hear from loved ones. There is both an immediate and a long-term need.  Click here for more details on... Prayer & Aid Needed for Haiti.

Sharing Our Love For Others
In the midst of an economy that’s looking pretty uncertain, most of us have warm shelter, clothing to wear and food on our tables. That is not the case for many Harford County families and even families within our Church.  Please pray for these families and give if you are able.

Shelter-in-a-Bag
There is a homeless shelter in Riverside that can sleep 28 people?  Sounds like a great thing… until you hear that we have over 300 homeless people in Harford County!  BACN has a new ministry to assist with helping the homeless.  Your *Tax Deductible Donation* will help create a $60 Shelter-in-a-Bag consisting of: a Bible donated by the Church ▪ Sleeping Bag-$20 ▪ Hooded Sweatshirt-$5 ▪ Long-sleeved Tee-$3 ▪ Scarf or Hat ▪ Gloves-$2 ▪ Plastic Drop Cloth-$2 ▪ New Underwear-$2 ▪ New Socks-$2 ▪ Flashlight w/ Batteries-$2 ▪ Toiletries-$2 all contained in a Duffel Bag-$20 on wheels.  We have multiple things that we are trying to accomplish with this ministry.  To assist in meeting the needs of our homeless population here in Harford County while finding more ways to instill a servant’s heart in our young children. Children and adults both like to have a cause to stand beside.   Each item can be purchased separately or a bag can purchased as whole.

     Neighbor to Nation logoWorkplace Giving
Reach your neighbor & our world.  Give to NCMI in your workplace giving campaign.  Our CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) number is #11735.  On the Neighbor-to-Nation Charity Guide, look for the NCMI listing.  For United Way, write on your donor choice card: “NCMI • 12351 W. 96th Terrace • Suite 100  Lenexa, KS. 66215 • 1.800.214.4999.”

 School Pal-Paks & School Supplies
School Pal-Paks are a great way to help children around the world and to get your kids involved as they help collect the needed items.   A Pal-Pak consists of the essentials for a student starting a new school year.  The cost of each Pal-Pak is approximately $10.00.  We are also taking school supplies to Tabitha’s House and Mason-Dixon Community Services for needy Harford County children.   Stop at the Welcome Center for your bag and a School Pal-Pak • List of Supplies and grab a few extra supplies to donate when you are out shopping!

  Back-to-School Around the World
The Students, Faculty and Staff of Nazarene Educational Institutions around the world are training Preachers, Teachers, Evangelists, Nurses and Vocational and Lay Leaders.  This education is essential to the success of evangelistic efforts. Please remember the Students, Faculty, and their Staff in your prayers. Pick up a PRAYER PENCIL and learn more about Nazarene International Ministries at the table in the Lobby.
♦ How many Nazarene Institutes of Higher-Learning are there outside the USA and Canada?

Crisis Care Kits
When there is a natural disaster in the U.S. or around the world, consider the hundreds of thousands of people left homeless and without basic supplies.  Right now, the supply of Crisis Care Kits have been depleted and there is an extraordinary need for more.  Pick up a Crisis Care Kit • List of Supplies from the Welcome Center and return it to BACN after you fill it.

   Helping Hands ♦ ServeFest • 2nd Saturday
Do you have one Saturday morning a month to set aside to show God's love by being the hands and feet of Christ in the community?  In simple and practical ways we want to be... Living proof of a loving God to a watching world.  If you would like to be a part of this special ministry to assist those in our church and community who need help with yard work, repairs, etc. and are not able to do it themselves, please sign-up at the Welcome Center or contact Steve Vaughan.

   Homeless Shelter HELP NEEDED
If you can spare just a few hours on the 25th each month, we need your help at the FCCAU (Faith Communities and Civic Agencies United) Homeless Shelter at Riverside.  If you can: drive a van, shop, cook or serve a meal, present an encouraging and friendly face or doze on a sofa... WE NEED YOU!   There is a need for a Food Coordinator; someone to plan the meals, purchase the food and prepare it.  Whether BACN is able to minister at the shelter depends on YOU.  Please sign-up at the Welcome Center.

  Computer Games & DVD’s
We need good, fun, teaching computer games/programs and DVD’s suitable for children anywhere from Kindergarten thru 8th Grade for Sun Valley Indian School.  They have especially asked for some that would hold the older children's interest.  Any items your children have outgrown would be appreciated.

 HCDC Supports Recycling
Don’t forget to bring in your Newspapers, Magazines, Catalogs, etc. (No cardboard, please!) to help HCDC protect the earth for our children through a Paper Recycling Project that’s a fundraiser too!  A Recycle Dumpster is located outside the Children’s Wing.  See the bulletin board in the Family Life Center for a complete list of items. Thank you for your support!

 HCDC Kids are Thinking Green!
Recycle Used Ink/Toner Cartridges & Used Cell Phones
Bring your empty Printer Ink/Toner Cartridges & Old Cell Phones to HCDC.  They send them off to be RECYCLED.  This is good for our planet and it's a great way to raise up kids to think about the many ways we can REDUCE • REUSE • RECYCLE.

  Church/HCDC Opportunity...
Through the $AVE-A-TAPE Program at Redner’s Warehouse Market in Hickory, 1% of qualifying purchases can be donated back to our Daycare/Church.  It’s very simple:  Just pick up a card at the Welcome Center, show it to the cashier at check-out, collect your Register Tapes and turn them in each week at the Welcome Center.  Thank you for your support!

  Clothing Reminder
We are collecting clothing, but asking everyone to put your CLEAN, GENTLY USED items directly in the Missions Container in the Barn since we do not have storage room inside the Church.  Also, help is needed at the Compassionate Ministry Center to sort and pack the donated clothing for shipping to 3rd World Countries.  Contact Jane Pritchet for more info.

months.

LFE Logo Campbell’s Soup Labels
Keep bringing in your Campbell’s Soup Labels so BACN can help the boys and girls at Sun Valley Indian School get their school supplies.  One year they redeemed their Campbell’s Soup Labels for a Dodge Stow-n-Go Van and they were able to redeem their Campbell’s Soup Labels for 8 Dell Optiplex GX520 computers another year!  Their present goal is to purchase a much needed 7-Passenger Minivan. Please keep those Campbell’s Soup Labels coming!  Help make a difference in the lives of boys and girls at Sun Valley Indian School!  Click for a complete list of eligible products.  ALL LABELS turned in MUST include the UPC code on them.

  April Food Drive
The Feinstein Foundation makes a financial contribution to both Tabitha’s House and Mason-Dixon Community Services in proportion to the amount of Food and Money Donations they receive during the month of April.  Why is Mr. Feinstein doing this???  “Because I believe each of us was put here on earth to do what we can to help those in need.”  Alan Shawn Feinstein ♦ What if it isn't April???  Please donate throughout the year.  There are A LOT of people in our community that are forced to go without all year long.
